EMDR & Brainspotting
I specialize in supporting people who have experienced trauma using gentle, effective approaches like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Brainspotting. These methods help the brain and body naturally process experiences that may have felt overwhelming or "stuck," allowing healing to unfold from the inside out. Together, we work at a pace that feels safe and manageable, helping you release what's been held in the nervous system and reconnect with a sense of calm, confidence, and wholeness.
What Is EMDR?
EMDR is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer feel as overwhelming or present-day. Using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR supports the nervous system in moving "stuck" experiences toward resolution—often without requiring you to talk through every detail.
What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting works with eye position to access and process unresolved trauma and emotional pain held in the body. It's a gentle, body-based approach that can reach material that talk therapy alone sometimes can't, making it especially helpful for trauma, anxiety, and long-standing patterns that feel hard to shift.
How these approaches help
-
Reduce the intensity of distressing memories and triggers
-
Ease symptoms of anxiety, panic, and hypervigilance
-
Support healing from single-incident or long-standing, complex trauma
-
Help you feel more regulated, grounded, and present in daily life
What to Expect
We move at a pace that feels safe for you. Early sessions focus on building trust, understanding your history, and identifying what you'd like to work on. From there, we use EMDR and/or Brainspotting collaboratively—you're always in control, and we never move faster than feels manageable.
Healing is possible, and you don't have to go through it alone. If you have questions about whether EMDR or Brainspotting might be a good fit for you, I invite you to reach out.
